Designing Systems with Shared Purpose

Tumeke designs from kaupapa Māori outward by building intelligent platforms where story shapes logic, memory guides behavior, and simulation holds cultural weight.

Designing this way ensures our systems remain accountable to place, people, and purpose.  Performance still has its value, but it’s where it should be, as a support structure.

What this means for design is a different method of building, where the systems support the people and their stories, instead of trying to make the story or people fit the system.  This has the potential to reach players in meaningful ways that traditional western style world-building and systems design has found challenging.

Built for Scale. Designed for Memory. Powered by Logic.

Our proprietary platform is a relational object management system built to oversee logic, behavior, and contextual memory across large-scale simulations.

Think of it as our brain for persistent simulation.  It’s not a game engine, it goes a step beyond. It’s built to oversee logic, behavior, and contextual memory across multi-server environments.

Some Mistakes Don’t End. They Define Everything That Comes After.

Errata is a survival RPG set in a post-collapse world where memory shapes history and every faction clings to its own version of the truth.

Errata is Earth. But not the one we remember. It is a place where our worst decisions were preserved, repeated, and written into the bones of the world.

Players must navigate between the decaying legacy of the Clone Kings and the resurgence of kaupapa Māori values embraced by their descendants, the Dryrunners, choosing whether to rebuild through manaakitanga, or extract through domination.

Updates from the Edge of a Broken World

This is where we document the build. From platform logic and system failures to narrative tools and cultural design, this is how we are shaping Errata and supporting other worlds to come.

Introducing Errata

We're extremely pleased to break our radio silence this year with our first feature video for our game-in-development: Errata. Most of this year has been spent out of sight for a reason. The focus has been on building the underlying systems that make the world...

The Barren Age: Yesterday’s Mistakes, Today’s World

In our last post we discussed the Age of Sovereigns and how corridor control turned survival into a contract. We followed how water and dispatchable energy set the map, how gates set prices, and how cities lived or died by whether their seats could keep power flowing...

The Age of Sovereigns: When Corporations Became Kings

In our last post we discussed the Collapse and how climate and economic fluctuations drove the people into a state of emergency. We talked a bit about who responded to that state, and why it was corporations, and not governments, who ultimately found authority in the...

The Collapse: The Day the Bygone’s Debts Came Due

Last week we talked about the Bygone Era and how it contains familiar parallels to todays world.  This week we're going to go a step further, and talk about what happens when society breaks. In Errata this has already happened, and it has a name. In Errata this is...

The Bygone Era – The First Steps Away From Earth, and Towards Errata

The Bygone Era is the one that feels closest to home. Distance shrank, pipes and rails multiplied, and data smoothed the work until most people forgot what it took to keep things running. Heavy industry, global supply, big civic plants, quiet control rooms on a...

How Errata Wears the Symbols of Empire to Tell a Story (Part 3 – The Dryrunners)

One group that will be often talked about, but seldom seen in town, are the Dryrunners. They are a mobile people organized around Runs, which are multi-wahka caravans that move from the Great Dust Basin to the Highlands on routes that are unpredictable to outsiders.....
